11-25-08 The trio played at the first annual North Georgia Guitar Summit up in Dahlonega, GA. It took place at North Georgia College and State University. Our friend, Richard Knepp, professor of guitar at NGCSU and Young Harris College, put the whole summit together. As a result of his work, the whole summit ran like clockwork. The first day started off with a masterclass and then recital by Luther Enloe, professor of guitar at Berry College. Later in the day, DuoATL, Emory University's Brian Luckett and composer Nicole Randall, gave a masterclass then recital. The second day started with an improvisation class by Esteban Anastasio of St. Pius Academy and our masterclass. John Sutherland, the renowned pedagogue from the University of Georgia and our mentor, did a masterclass. Then, we gave our recital, which closed out the Summit. Everything went very well: masterclasses, seminars, student performances, and recitals. We're looking forward to next year!! Thanks again to Richard Knepp for having us out! Here are a few photos:

10-27-08 So, since we are flying to Texas in February, we've been mulling over our flight case options for our guit-fiddles. Since I (Matt) play on both the 6-string and the 11-string in concert I had to figure out a good way to carry both guitars. I had considered just dealing with two cases. However, none of the standard flight-case companies (e.g., Accord or Calton) would fit the 11-string. So, I went to a local manufacturer, The Georgia Case Company of Atlanta, and I had them build this behemoth you see below. The only decision I'm left with is the best way to use the case: I'm guessing I could let my guitars take my seat on the flight and I could check myself...

10-8-08 We are excited about the amount of radioplay our CD has been getting on WUGA 91.7. They've even been using clips from our CD as transition music between non-music segments. We are hoping to play live on this station sometime within the next few months, but we will keep you posted as far as that is concerned. We have sent our CD off to the NPR station in Atlanta, so hopefully you Atlanta folks will be hearing us on the radio soon!!

10-5-08 A couple of upcoming shows have been finalized. We are playing two shows in Texas in February, and we are playing the final concert at the first North Georgia Guitar Summit in Dahlonega, GA, this November. We are doing a masterclass earlier in the day as well. Come out and enjoy the Summit! Some great artists will be there: DuoATL and Luther Enloe will be playing and doing masterclasses, and John Sutherland (our teacher and mentor) and Esteban Anastasio will be doing seminars.

9-30-08 Well, technically this isn't news, but I want to take advantage of our news page to offer up the following. Our own Matt Anderson is featured in a 3-D rendering of Picasso's Guernica done by Lena Gieseke. Matt, with cellist Chris Johns, is performing "Nana" by Manuel de Falla. Check it out HERE.

9-29-08 The trio just received a copy of our first CD review! We were grateful to have our CD, Emergence, reviewed in Soundboard Magazine by Dr. Albert Kunze. And, lucky for us, it was a very favorable review (just one more piece of evidence that everyone should have a copy of this CD!!). You can see a quote from the review on our PRESS page, or check out Soundboard Magazine, vol. 34, no. 3. Also reviewed in the same edition were our friends, the Georgia Guitar Quartet. This phenomenal quartet received a great review of their last two CD's, Mosaic and Puzzle (check them out HERE).

9-1-08 The AGT contributed a song, our recording of Faure's beautiful Pavane, Op. 50, to the Eve Carson memorial album. Alot of great Athens groups were able to contribute to the album and we were glad to be able to do so alongside them. For more information and to purchase the CD, Belie-v-e: Songs in Memory of Eve Carson, please visit the following website:

All of the proceeds from this album will go to a scholarship in Eve's honor.
